How Island Time Began
My fascination for knot tying
began in Boy Scouts and evolved over a life of sailing and using
knots and splices. After sailing in the Caribbean for a couple of
years I came ashore and started Island Time Sailing School. “Island
Time” comes from a Caribbean notion of letting things follow a
natural course. It was at this time that I took on a yellow lab
named Ceilidh for a sidekick. We often played with pieces of line
from boats that I sailed. I took a look at the pet toy marketplace
and quickly found that most of the pet toys available are made
overseas and none of them are made with any care or of natural,
quality materials.
Island Time Pet Toys and
Accessories are created in the USA using a combination of hand-made
traditional nautical rope methods and only the finest quality
100%-cotton, American-made, non-toxic rope. Our cat friends asked
about a hand made nautical cat toy and inspired us to design the
Cat’s Paw and Pigtails especially for them. Our toys, collars, and custom
leashes are extremely popular all natural items at some of New
England’s boutique pet retail outlets we decided to build on that
attraction by offering our products directly to you.
